OUR COMMITMENT

Often on the television we are confronted by images of emaciated children and displaced people, sometimes due to famine, civil war or terrorism and our hearts go out to those we see but we feel inadequate to help. After six years of working in Ghana I saw a need and knew that I could not turn away. So I set up The Koby Foundation and for the past twelve years I have visited Ghana frequently and continue to do so.

FEEDING FAMILIES IN GHANA

We feed many children every Wednesday and Saturday to whom our door is always open to.

What We Do

Everything the children need is provided by The Koby Foundation, school fees, uniform, shoes, textbooks etc. Each morning the school children have dinner provided which has been prepared in the morning to make sure they are fed every day. Some of the children are fed 3 times a day because they are so impoverished. At the close of school, they come back and Sala helps them with their homework.

We also pay for medication and hospital bills as these poor families cannot afford it, unfortunately people die all the time from minor ailments that worsen due to lack of treatment.

We supply clean water at a subsidised cost, so the children and their families don’t have to collect water from the dirty ponds. Sometimes it is what we would consider the small things that make a huge difference in people’s lives.

100% of the money raised and donated is always spent on the children. We have always paid our own expenses and air fares, administration costs etc.

A sweet, a hug, a kind word, a friendly smile and a safe place to run to where the door is always open for a child to ask for food. A place to play and be children. The children now talk about their Christmas celebrations all year round; they never knew before what it was to have such a joyous time or to receive a present.

The Koby Foundation was set up to help impoverished children and adults in Ghana, Africa who are unable to receive proper medical treatment due to poverty. The foundation also helps provide shelter, food and education to those in need.
